Benefits to Smaller Operators (SMEs)
NLA is actively promoting the integration of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and newly established logistics companies into the association.
We provide small businesses with an affordable platform to voice their interests and to form business linkages with successful national and international players.
Smaller businesses will especially benefit from the group purchasing schemes with key industry suppliers, the customised training & capacity building progrmme and receiving the latest market information. Further, the association is negotiating a financial scheme which will primarily benefit smaller companies.
Driver Development Programme
In February 2010 the NLA rolled out its Driver Development Strategy to address the serious shortage of qualified drivers experienced by NLA members, as well as to continuously improve the standard of professional driving on Namibian roads via structured training and recognition of good performance.
Programmes planned by 2012
Industry Accreditation Programme
NLA aims to become the independent seal of quality for the logistics industry by developing an industry accreditation system. The system will regulate minimum quality standards within the industry to ensure ethical conduct and fair competition. Each operating member will be assessed and given an accreditation certificate depending on the standard fulfilled.
